Project RAMA Update

Made In Space is a company dedicated to creating a future of human life in space. They specialize in creating manufacturing equipment tailored to working and building in zero-gravity. Among their accomplishments, they have designed and created the 3D printer that us currently used by astronauts on the International Space Station.

This project is an update to the concept art I created for Project RAMA in an earlier stage. This project aims to direct asteroids in and out of orbit using inertia to propel them. These mechanisms would be made out of the rock and metals found on the asteroid, put together by seed bots sent there. During the initial project, the concept was there, but the physics and mechanics of how to perform such a feat was still being determined. Made In Space won funding from NASA’s Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC), and these drawings represent an update to their research.
